Born June 3, 1995, in Knoxville TN, I became interested in politics at the age of 13 taking an Advanced American Government class. During that class, I wrote the entire United States Constitution by hand. Verbatim. Every single word, every amendment, and even every crossed out, repealed part. 7, 591 words. All created to ensure our freedom in America.
If elected, I promise to uphold the laws of this land and serve the people to the best of my ability by frequently engaging in the community with with town halls, social media, and online presence to better understand the real issues Americans face daily and how I can help.
Born June 3, 1995 in Knoxville, TN, I gave my life to Jesus Christ at the age of five, and have rededicated multiple times since. I spent my young life going to church, but as I got older, life and other issues got in the way. From the time I was six, I was playing soccer and in piano lessons. Throughout elementary school, I participated in the “Talented and Gifted” program. At nine years old, I travelled to the Atlantic, the Pacific, and the Gulf of Mexico, began to play guitar, and wrote my first song. I also improved at soccer and became my team’s captain. At 11, I secured a spot on a national boys soccer team.
Throughout middle school, I took advanced classes, captained the middle school soccer team, and developed a passion for writing. I won the school spelling bee in seventh grade. I took advanced art from sixth to eighth grade. I joined band in eighth grade and auditioned for the wind ensemble that went to Disney World. I also joined the high school’s winter drum line. For Awards Day, our chorus teacher asked me to accompany the choir for a song on guitar. I performed with a friend in the talent show at the end of the year, and the assistant principal asked me a personal favor to create the brochure for the show, as he learned that my peers voted me “most creative” in the yearbook superlatives. I suppose the time I taped poems to a bass drum for a project, brought it to class, and called it “The Beat of My Heart” wasn’t forgotten in addition to my consistent unusual fashion choices.
In high school, I continued taking advanced classes and started studying Spanish. I became section leader of the front ensemble in winter drum line as a freshman, supervising and teaching even students older than me. I learned how to color my own hair, and ended up experimenting with every hair color imaginable except black. At 15, I auditioned for Senior Clinic and performed in the honorary White Band. I tied for first chair in our concert band. At 16, I made second snare and performed in the marching band for a World War 2 show. I also got to march in the 90th Annual Pearl Harbor Day Parade in Hawaii. The second semester my junior year, I had the opportunity to attend a non-traditional high school and began working as a hostess. From there, I graduated a year early at 16 with a 4.02 GPA. My principal made a speech about me, explaining that I was the youngest to ever from graduate there, achieved a higher than possible GPA for that school, and I received an $88,000 scholarship to Maryville College. She presented me with a statue of a bald eagle on a plaque.
At 17 years old, I moved into a dorm at Maryville College. I attempted to pursue a degree in Music, but after about three months I had to medically withdraw. While at the college though, I took a class called Perspectives on LGBT Issues. I didn’t know it then, but that class would change my entire life, shaping how I see the world. Eight months after withdrawing, I enrolled at Pellissippi State Technical Community College. I graduated with an associate’s in web technology and a few certifications at 20 years old. After graduation, I decided to work as a pizza delivery driver. Then I decided to pursue a certification in cosmetology. I graduated from Tennessee School of Beauty at 28 years old.
Today, I am almost 30, working on a music album, and I just witnessed a defining moment in American history. Corey Booker took to the Senate Floor, inspiring the world with his words, “I’m not going to allow my inability to do everything undermine my ability to do something.” I hear his call of action, and I rise for the challenge. I want to help make this country a safe place, where all human rights are guaranteed and upheld. Here is my mission.
